Yamaha MG-K 1990 - Description

Struggling with heavy, clunky guitars that slow you down in practice or on stage? The Yamaha MG-K 1990 weighs just 3.4 kg, making it easy to handle for long sessions without fatigue.

This electric guitar suits players who want a versatile and affordable instrument with a classic vibe. Whether you’re a bedroom hobbyist exploring Tele-style tones or a gigging musician seeking a reliable workhorse with original components, the MG-K fits the bill.

  • Cream White finish adds a timeless look while showing few signs of cosmetic wear, none affecting sound or playability
  • Original Tele-style single-coil pickups deliver clear, bright tones that work well across genres from blues to rock
  • Neck dimensions (20.2 mm at the 1st fret, 21.7 mm at the 12th) and 41.5 mm nut width offer comfortable playability for most hand sizes
  • Original pots maintain authentic control feel and tone shaping
  • Made in Japan in 1990, this guitar carries vintage character and solid build quality
  • Frets remain in good condition with minimal wear, ensuring smooth playing without buzzing

Picture yourself at home or in the studio: plugging in this lightweight guitar lets you focus on expression without strain. The clear single-coil sound helps your riffs and melodies cut through the mix effortlessly.

Q: Can I still get a tremolo arm for this guitar? A: Yes, the MG-K originally included a tremolo arm, which is missing here. Compatible replacements are available and can restore that functionality.

Q: Is the finish damage visible during a performance? A: The finish damage is located below the volume pot and is primarily cosmetic. It doesn’t affect the guitar’s sound or how it plays.

Q: How does the neck shape affect my playing? A: The neck’s slim profile and nut width suit a variety of playing styles, from fast lead runs to comfortable chords.

Choosing the Yamaha MG-K 1990 is a more sustainable choice, giving a vintage instrument a new life without new manufacturing resources. Its condition shows some cosmetic signs of use, but the sound and playability remain intact. It comes with a warranty and a return policy, letting you invest in quality and reliability with peace of mind.
