ESP LTD B-55 Black 2012 5-String Electric Bass

This is an ESP LTD B-55 5 String Electric Bass in Black finish. Made in China in 2012, this bass features a bolt-on construction comprising an Agathis body, Maple neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This bass is fitted with Chrome hardware including a top-loading 5-saddle bridge and ESP sealed tuning machines. Passive ESP pickups are installed, with an LDP Precision style split coil in the middle and an LDJ Jazz style pickup in the bridge position. These are wired to an active preamp with controls for neck volume, bridge volume and master tone.

The Maple neck plays very well, with the Thin U profile feeling nicely slim and manageable in the hand, perfect for speedy, articulate playing along the 34” scale length. The Satin finish to the rear is pleasant to the touch and assists with smooth navigation of the 24 fret register, whilst the double cutaway body design and sculpted heel ensure uninhibited access to the upper frets. The Rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth and durable playing surface, whilst the 15.7” radius works in conjunction with the Extra Jumbo frets to deliver a rock solid playing experience in all registers.

The ESP pickups installed in this guitar deliver a punchy, heavy low-end tone that makes a real impact in the mix. The LDP Precision-style split-coil pickup in the middle position sounds chunky and emphasises the bass and lower-midrange, perfect for round and smooth tones. The LDJ Jazz-Style pickup in the bridge takes care of the bright trebly sounds, and blends beautifully with the LDP for a well rounded and punchy tone that is well suited to rock and metal styles whilst remaining versatile enough for use in a range of musical settings.
