This is a Fender Classic Series ‘50s Stratocaster in 3-Colour Sunburst finish. Made in Mexico in 2003, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 21 fret Maple fingerboard. This guitar is equipped with a 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Synchronized Tremolo with Vintage-Style Stamped Steel saddles, as well as Fender Vintage-Style Split-Post tuning machines. A trio of Fender Vintage-Style Strat Single-Coil pickups are installed, and are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, neck tone and middle tone controls.
The Gloss Maple neck plays very well, with the ‘C’ profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and promoting ergonomic hand positioning, feeling smooth whilst providing an articulate playing experience. The Maple fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and offers a tactile and durable playing surface, with the 7.25” radius working in conjunction with the Vintage-Style frets to produce an authentically vintage playing experience, allowing for vibrato techniques and complex chordings to be played with ease.
The Fender Vintage-Style Strat Single-Coil pickups provide all the classic Stratocaster tones that you could wish for. The bridge pickup provides bright and glistening trebles with plenty of spank, whilst power chords sound gritty & raw. However, with subtler amp settings the bridge offers a bright, glassy clean tone. The middle pickup produces bright trebles and full warm bass, and lends itself well to funky rhythm tones. The neck pickup is of course rounder, and produces creamy lead tones that are great for melodic lines & solos. The vintage-style control layout is practical & versatile, allowing you to dial in the perfect tone right on the guitar.
