This is a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar in Candy Apple Red finish. Made in the USA in 2008, this guitar consists of a Mahogany body with a Maple top, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Gibson Deluxe tuners with Tulip buttons, a Tune-o-Matic bridge, and a ABR-1 bridge. The pickups installed in this guitar are a Gibson Custom Shop Jimmy Page Humbucker in the neck position, and a Gibson ‘Dirty Fingers’ Humbucker in the bridge position. These pickups are wired to standard Les Paul wiring.

This guitar is allegedly a part of the collection of 25 Custom Shop recreations of Jimmy Page’s “Number 3” Les Paul. This ‘mystery’ guitar has been speculated about since he first acquired it on tour in 1970. Jimmy’s original “No.3” was said to be a refinished Goldtop with a “pancake” body that had the original mini-humbuckers replaced with full-sized humbuckers. This guitar features the same early 50’s appointments such as the lower headstock decal placement, long-neck tenon joint and thinner binding.

The ABR-1 bridge provides this guitar almost infinite sustain and gives a true vintage feel for the player to get the most out of this guitar effortlessly.

The Gibson Custom Shop Jimmy Page Humbucker in the neck position delivers impeccable lead tone for solos and melodic lines with a fantastically thick and full tone right out of the gate. The middle position sounds punchy, with driving mids along with crisp and clear highs making for a nice blend of the two pickups. The Gibson ‘Dirty Fingers’ Humbucker bridge position provides open sustain and broad harmonic clarity, making chords sound crystalline and clear. The Classic Les Paul wiring gives plenty of versatility without any complicated switching.
