Godin Freeway Classic Black Pearl 2008 Electric Guitar

This is a Godin Freeway Classic in Black Pearl finish. Assembled in the USA in 2008 from parts hand crafted in Canada, this instrument features a bolt-on construction comprising a Silver Leaf Maple body with Poplar wings, Maple neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with a vintage-style Tremolo and Godin Sealed tuning machines. The pickups in thi guitar are installed in an HSH configuration, with a GHB1 in the bridge, GS1 in the middle and GHN1 in the neck. These are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume and a master tone.

The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the Slim Medium profile providing comfortable navigation and ergonomic thumb positioning up and down the neck. The 12” radius of the Rosewood fingerboard is practical for a wide range of styles and techniques. whilst the medium jumbo frets enhance with bending and vibrato techniques. The smooth lines of the body feel great in both seated and standing positions, and the generous dual cutaways and lightly sculpted neck heel ensure unrestricted access to the upper register.

The trio of Godin pickups installed in this instrument deliver a versatile range of tones thanks to their 5-way switching and HSH configuration. The humbucker in the neck position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end that works well for lead sounds. The single-coil in the middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange that is perfect for funky rhythm tones. The GHB1 in the bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end and can handle plenty of gain for a saturated rock rhythm sound. A well made and comfortably playable instrument with a versatile range of sounds.
