This guitar is based on an old 1960s Hopf solidbody.
It was comlpetely reworked: -new “Richmond” tabacco-bucker pickup (single coil made by me in an old Richmond tabacco can) -new pickguard (3-ply rosewood) and headstock veneer -new frets -new handmade bridge from brass -new Kluson nickel tuner -new wiring, pot knobs, strap buttons etc…
The only thing remainding is the original tremolo tailpiece and wood.
Visually it is far from perfect, but I think that goes along with the “smokers” charm. Playability and intonation are great. The pickup has its own sound, somewhere between P90 and a strat pickup. But due to its construction less noisy. The polepiece screws are not supposed to be adjusted - do not turn them! - a desgn flaw I guess but I am learning as I go ;)
Check out the demo video.
Comes in what could be the original case - the case is not in good condition, but protects well when the guitar is shipped.
