This is a Marshall SL5 Slash Signature Valve combo amplifier. The SL5 is the result of a collaboration between Marshall and guitar hero Slash. This guitar amplifier offers you that typical Slash sound in a compact housing. At its core, the SL5 consists of three ECC83 preamp tubes and an EL34 power amp tube. It features two channels, clean and overdrive, with their own volume controls and a shared 3-band EQ. It’s also equipped with a studio-quality reverb, which - along with the two channels - is activated with the footswitch.

Marshall SL5: at home and in the studio

The clean channel allows for a crystal-clear Slash clean sound, but when you turn up the volume, it can also create a gorgeous crunch. For the true Slash sound, however, you’ll have to switch into overdrive. That will get you the typical Marshall growl with oodles of dynamic gain. Thanks to its compact size and low wattage, the SL5 is an ideal amp for use in the recording studio. It’s also great for home use, however, because with one press of the button, you can switch from 5 watts to 1 watt of power, for a volume level that is much less likely to upset the neighbours.
